FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE

About FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE

FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE belongs to the class of 'Vitamins', primarily used to treat nutritional deficiencies. It is used to treat and prevent nutritional deficiencies such as vitamin B6 deficiency, folate deficiency and vitamin B12 deficiency. A nutritional deficiency occurs when the body does not absorb or get enough nutrients from food. FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE helps in the growth and development of cells, boosts the immune system, balances vitamin content, metabolism of minerals, and helps maintain a healthy central nervous system.

FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE contains Folic acid, Pyridoxine, and Methylcobalamin. Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate. It helps in the formation of red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. It prevents and treats low blood levels of folate (folate deficiency), and high blood levels of an amino acid, homocysteine (hyperhomocysteinemia). Pyridoxine is also known as vitamin B6. It is a water-soluble vitamin involved in protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism and the formation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. Methylcobalamin regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis.

Take FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE as advised by the doctor. Sometimes, FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE may have common side effects like nausea, stomach upset, diarrhoea, drowsiness, flushing, and numbness/tingling. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time.  However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects gradually.

Let your doctor know if you are using any other medicines or herbal products before starting FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE. If you are known to be allergic to FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE or its inactive components, please inform your doctor. Please tell your doctor if you have malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food). In such a case, the dosage form may be changed to intravenous administration of individual vitamins for better absorption. If you are a pregnant or breastfeeding mother, please consult your doctor before taking FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE.

Uses of FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE

Nutritional deficiencies, folate deficiency, Vitamin B12 deficiency and Vitamin B6 deficiency.

Medicinal Benefits

FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE is used to treat nutritional deficiencies. It contains Folic acid, Pyridoxine, and Methylcobalamin. Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate, a water-soluble Vitamin B. It helps in the formation of red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. It prevents and treats folate deficiency and hyperhomocysteinemia. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a water-soluble vitamin that treats and prevents vitamin B6 deficiency. It is involved in protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism and the creation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. It helps in cognitive development through neurotransmitter biosynthesis and maintains normal homocysteine levels (an amino acid in the blood). Methylcobalamin (Mecobalamin) is a coenzyme form of vitamin B12 and treats Vitamin B12 deficiency. Methylcobalamin regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. Together, FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE helps treat nutritional deficiencies.

FAQs

FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE is a vitamin supplement and consists of Folic acid, Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) and Methylcobalamin (vitamin B12). When you lack these vitamins in your body, which cannot be recovered even with the food sources, FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE helps in normalising these deficient levels. Collectively, FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE treats nutritional deficiencies.

Vitamin B6 deficiency occurs when your body lacks adequate Pyridoxine levels. You can overcome this deficiency by including food sources rich in Pyridoxine like milk, eggs, beef, pork, chicken or turkey, fish, peanuts, soya beans, wheat germ, oats and bananas. If your Vitamin B6 levels are still low, your doctor may recommend its supplements.

Vitamin B12 deficiency is caused when you don't have enough Methylcobalamin or Mecobalmin levels in your body. You can include natural Vitamin B12 sources like eggs, beef, liver, chicken, trout, salmon, tuna fish, clams, fortified breakfast cereal, low-fat milk, yoghurt, and cheese in your diet for treating the deficiency. If you still have low levels of B12, please consult your doctor for its supplements.

Folate deficiency occurs when your body lacks adequate folic acid/folate levels. You can overcome this deficiency by including food sources rich in folic acid like broccoli, brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, cabbage, kale, spring greens, spinach, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans, and breakfast cereals fortified with folic acid. If your folic acid levels are still low, your doctor may recommend its supplements.

It is important to tell your doctor if you have malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food) since it may be hard to absorb vitamins through oral administration. Your doctor may advise other dosage forms in such cases.

Pyridoxine in FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE may interfere with laboratory tests like urine test for urobilinogen. Please make sure your doctor and the laboratory staff know that you take FOLIC ACID+METHYLCOBALAMIN+PYRIDOXINE before undergoing any blood and urine examinations.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and follow your usual dosage.
